The Taiwan Green Building Label is abbreviated as EEWH. EEWH is the abbreviation of "Ecology, Energy Saving, Waste Reduction, and Health". It was developed from Taiwan's energy-saving design regulations in 1995. In 1999, after the Ministry of the Interior's Building Research Institute published the first "Green Building Interpretation and Evaluation Manual" and the "Green Building Label", it officially became a national green building certification standard and the fourth green building evaluation system in the world. , and is currently the only green building evaluation system independently developed in tropical and subtropical climates, and most especially for high-temperature and high-humidity climates.
There are six types of EEWH, which are divided into "basic type, accommodation type, factory building type, old building improvement type, community type, and overseas version". Each type is based on the four major axes of "ecology, energy saving, waste reduction, and health". According to the standards of the nine indicators of "biodiversity, greening amount, base water conservation, daily energy saving, carbon dioxide reduction, waste reduction, indoor environment, water resources, sewage and waste improvement", to determine the "qualified grade, bronze grade, silver grade Level, Gold Level, Diamond Level" five certification levels, generally audit rewards if qualified level can get 2% volume, bronze level 4%, silver level 6%, gold level 8%, diamond level 10%, and New Taipei City is more strict, Volume rewards must be above the gold level and the rewards are relatively low, only 3% for the gold level and 6% for the diamond level (New Taipei City Implementation Rules of Urban Planning Law 108.07.03).
It has been more than 20 years since Taiwan implemented EEWH in 1999, and there have been more than 9,000 "Green Building Labels" and "Candidate Green Building Certificates" in total, making Taiwan one of the most effective countries in the world in promoting green buildings under EEWH .
